Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday (September 7) felicitated meritorious students who passed the HSLC and AHM Exams 2022 with a one-time amount of Rs 16,000 each under the Anundoram Barooah Award.
The state government has awarded 22,601 students who secured 75% and above in HSLC Exam 2022 with an amount of Rs 16,000 each in a programme held at Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra Auditorium in Guwahati.
“Anundoram Borooah Award is an ambitious scheme by Government of Assam to inspire students to strive for academic excellence,” CM Sarma said in a tweet.
“Happy to have felicitated meritorious students who scored 75% & above in HSLC Examination 2022, with the award at Sankardeva Kalakshetra Auditorium today,” he added.
“Under this award, we have disbursed ₹16,000 each to 22,601 meritorious students from across Assam, amounting to a total of more than ₹36 crore,” the Chief Minister further said.
Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu, Education Advisor to Govt of Assam Nani Gopal Mahanta and senior officials were also present during the ceremony.
