The Assam government on Wednesday published advertisements to fill over 10,000 vacancies in the education department as it inches closer to fulfilling its commitment of giving one lakh government jobs to the youth of the state.
Among these vacancies, 7249 posts are for graduate candidates, while 1424 posts are for postgraduate candidates in the different provincialised secondary schools under the Directorate of Secondary Education of the state.
Detailed information regarding district-wise, subject-wise, medium-wise, and category-wise posts will be available on madhyamik.assam.gov.in and dee.assam.gov.in.
The official website will also host the details on application dates of the TET cum recruitment test.
Taking to his X handle Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma said, “Today, our government has announced advertisements for over 10,000 vacancies in the Education Department.”
“We will not only deliver but exceed our promise of creating more than 1 lakh government jobs in the most transparent manner in Assam’s history,” the CM added.
In a series of posts on X, Education Minister Ranoj Pegu said the Directorate of Secondary Education has released the advertisement for 1,424 post-graduate and 7,249 graduate teachers.
Pegu said the Directorate of Elementary Education has also released an advertisement for recruitment of 3,800 Assistant Teachers of Lower Primary (LP) Schools.
Earlier, the BJP had promised to deliver one lakh government jobs per year in Assam during the 2021 assembly polls, but later specified that this number was for the five years that the BJP government would be in office.
