Guwahati: Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman arrived in Guwahati on Thursday morning to inaugurate several projects and hold meetings with the state government.
FM Sitharaman was received by Assam Chief Minster Himanta Biswa Sarma and State Finance Minister Anjanta Neog at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport.
Taking to the Twitter CM Sarma wrote, “Welcoming Hon Union Minister Smt @nsitharamanat LGBI Airport Guwahati. We’re honoured with your presence. Look forward to your guidance. @nsitharamanoffc @FinMinIndia.”

Sitharaman will perform bhumi pujan of 120 Megawatt Lower Kopili hydro electric project at Dima Hasao district and lay the foundation stone of a road at Haflong . The Union minister will also inspect the Guwahati and North Guwahati bridge project.
Later in the day, she will launch a web portal under Assam Right to Public Service Act, 2012 at a function in Guwahati. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will accompany her during the events.
