Assam Floods: The bodies of the two minors were recovered on Monday after they were swept away by floodwaters
Assam Floods ~ 3 more meet watery grave across Assam: Three more people have died as a result of the devastating Assam floods while another youth, a student, has been washed away by the Brahmaputra in Guwahati.
The bodies of two persons — a five-year-old minor and a school student, were recovered in Nagaon’s Kachua and at Doomdooma in Tinsukia district today.
The body of Bishal Rajbhar (5) was recovered from a flooded paddy field in Kachua.
The minor was swept away by floodwaters at West Narayanpur of Kachua yesterday (June 2) while it was apparently playing alone.
The body has been sent for a post-mortem by police.
On the other hand, the body of another student named Suman Moran who was swept away by the swirling waters of Dangori river in Doomdooma Kordoiguri of Tinsukia district last Friday (May 30) was recovered today.
The corpse was spotted by local youths who in turn informed local authorities.
Meanwhile, another person died in the deluge in Hojai district, the government’s flood bulletin stated this morning.
In another incident, a youth named Kaushik Mitra was washed away by waters of the Brahmaputra at Pandughat in Guwahati on Monday afternoon after he went to the river banks to take a bath.
SDRF personnel launched an operation today morning to rescue him but his whereabouts remained unknown till the filing of this report.
