GUWAHATI: Five militant outfits who laid down arms in the presence of Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Tuesday(23 February) will sign ceasefire agreements with the government today(25 February) in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
The five rebel groups are- PDCK, KNLF, KPLT, KLF and UPLA. These outfits were active in the hill district of Karbi Anglong in Assam and a total of 1,040 members of five militant outfits laid down arms on Tuesday.
Later today, the home minister will also hold a message with members of the rebel outfit. Shah will reach Karbi Anglong at around 01:00 PM. Meanwhile, several top state government officials, as well as several state BJP leaders, have arrived in the hill district to welcome Amit Shah. On the other hand, Tuliram Ranghang, CEO, Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council arrived at the venue today to make the grand meeting at Dengaon field.
