GUWAHATI: Dhemaji district in Assam registered its first COVID-19 positive case on Monday. It was the only district in Assam with no COVID-19 patient till the first case has been detected in the morning. Among the newly-detected 35 COVID-19 patients in the State, a person from Dhemaji also tested positive. On Monday morning, Assam reported 35 new cases of which 18 persons are from Golaghat, 6 from Kokrajhar quarantine centre, 5 from Karimganj, 2 from Tinsukia, 2 from Sivasagar and one each is from Jorhat and Dhemaji.
Addressing a press meet in Guwahati on Sunday Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that Hojai district has registered the highest number of COVID-19 positive cases.
Dhemaji was at the lowest as there was no case reported from the district till Monday morning.
