GUWAHATI, Aug 8: Assam DGP GP Singh has been named among 14 IPS officers empanelled to hold posts at the level of Director General or DG Equivalent at the Centre.
Singh, an IPS officer of the 1991 Assam-Meghalaya cadre who succeeded Bhaskarjyoti Mahanta as Assam DGP on Jan 31 earlier this year, was empanelled for holding posts at the level of DG/DG Eq. at the Government of India by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on August 7.
The Assam DGP took to twitter to announce the development with a caption that read: ‘With blessings of Maa Kamakhya and people of Assam,’ with the order notification attached below.
