Guwahati: Assam’s COVID-19 tally rose to 5,15,981 on Saturday as 2,375 more people tested positive for the infection while 28 new fatalities pushed the death toll to 4,632 the National Health Mission bulletin said.
Golaghat reported the highest number of new cases at 316, followed by Jorhat (231), Kamrup Metro (168), and Lakhimpur(166).

The current death rate is 0.90 per cent and the number of COVID-19 positive patients dying due to other causes is 1,347. The new coronavirus cases were detected out of testing of 1,34,085 samples on Saturday and the positivity rate for the day was 1.77 per cent.
Assam currently has 23,914 active COVID-19 cases.
The number of COVID-19 patients discharged during the day is 2,902 and altogether 4,83,741 people have recovered from the infection so far with the recovery rate being 94.19 per cent.
