GUWAHATI: Sherman Ali Ahmed, Congress legislator from the Baghbar constituency in Assam who frequently triggers various controversies hogged limelight again. The MLA made a record by laying foundation stones for 150 projects in a single day. Sherman was in rush to lay the foundation stones before the model code of conduct for Assam assembly elections came into force on Friday.
The Congress MLA laid foundation stones of various projects including Gaon Panchayat office, hostel for female teachers and social forestry schemes.
“Today we have laid foundation stones of 150 projects in the Baghbar constituency. I hope, the proper implementation of these projects will boost the development of the constituency,” Sherman Ali Ahmed said.
It may be noted that the Baghbar MLA was in row recently for his absurd demand to set up a Miya Museum inside the Sankardeva Kalakshetra, a centre in Guwahati to showcase the state’s culture and heritage. It was established as a part of historic Assam Accord.
