GUWAHATI: Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and health, finane, education minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma conveyed wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of Bhogali Bihu.
Sonowal in a video statement urged people to celebrate Bihu with peace and amity. He also thanked the farmers for their hard work in strengthening the State economy.

Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma also conveyed his warm wishes on the occasion of Magh Bihu Uruka.

Bhogali Bihu, the harvest festival holds special significance for every Assamese with people, particularly in semi-urban and rural pockets of the State, constructing bhelaghars based on various themes that have now become crowdpuller, catching the attention of all and sundry.
Meanwhile, markets witnessed hectic activity as people made last-minute purchases. Fish markets hogged all limelight as people made a beeline to them to get their choicest fish variety.
