GUWAHATI: Ahead of International Yoga Day on June 21, Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal has appealed the people of the State to observe the day from their homes maintaining social distance in view of COVID-19 pandemic.
“The aim of the Yoga Day will be to boost our immunity as well as making it a part of our lives,” Sonowal said in a video message.
“Yoga Day is for the well-being of all of us, it is for the sake of peace in the world,” Sonowal stated.
He also expressed his gratitude to prime minister Narendra Modi for popularising the yoga globally.
“I think it is a noteworthy contribution of PM Modi to the world,” the Assam chief minister further added.
