GUWAHATI: Assam chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday met vice president M Venkaiah Naidu in New Delhi. It was Sarma’s first visit to the Vice President after the former became chief minister of Assam.
“Gratitude I called on Hon’ble Vice President Sri M Venkaiah Naidu ji today, first since assuming office as Chief Minister of Assam. Humbled by his generous blessings,” Dr Sarma tweeted.

The chief minister also called on Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla to take his guidance in running the state.

In both the visits, Dr Sarma was accompanied by union minister Rameswar Teli.
Earlier on Monday evening, CM Sarma met union home minister Amit Shah and discussed pertinent issues related to Assam.
