In a major crackdown on the narcotics network, Karimganj Police, acting on specific input intercepted a vehicle in Srikrishna Nagar and seized 1 lakh yaba tablets from its secret chambers.
The seized contraband is estimated to be valued at a whopping Rs 20 crore in the international market. Meanwhile two people have been nabbed in this regard, including a major supplier and carrier in the operation.
They have been identified as Abul Hussain and Shaharul Islam. The vehicle was reportedly coming in from neighbouring Nagaland.
Meanwhile Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma took to social media and lauded lauded Karimganj Police for the successful operation against drug smuggling.
Taking to X CM Sarma wrote, “In a major crackdown on the narcotics network, @karimganjpolice, acting on a specific input intercepted a vehicle in Srikrishna Nagar and seized 1,00,000 YABA tablets from its secret chambers.
