Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma visits GMCH

Guwahati: To take stock of  the services provided to patients, Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma visited Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on Saturday  night.

While visiting GMCH the Chief Minister  said they he received complaints that the doctors of GMCH were doing duties in nursing homes.

CM Sarma also informed that no government doctors will be able to do private duties during their duty time in the government hospitals and no doctors will be able to leave duty early.

Taking to Twitter CM Sarma, “Visited GMCH & took stock of the services provided to patients. There have been complaints about certain doctors providing services at private nursing homes during their duty hours. Directed GMCH Principal to ensure that such acts are stopped.”

 

CM Sarma further informed that the new services of the superspecialty hospital of GMCH will be operational from February, 2022.

Speaking on the Omicron variant, CM Sarma said that the state government has no such separate SOPs and that the SOP issued by the Centre will be followed by the state.
