Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday extended Christmas greetings to the people of the state wishing for a path full of wisdom and happiness by the blessings of Lord Jesus.
Taking to X formerly known as Twitter CM Sarma wrote, “Wishing a #MerryChristmas! For those celebrating, may Jesus illuminate your path with wisdom and happiness”.

Prayers for peace and prosperity were offered across Assam as the state joined in the Christmas celebrations with gaiety and fervour on Monday.
People from all religions joined their Christian friends on the occasion, with many thronging chapels and churches for the midnight mass. Churches wore a festive look with special decorations, including glittering lights and scenes depicting the birth of Christ.
Meanwhile, Assam’s Guwahati has also gripped in festivities with the yuletide spirit reflecting in tastefully decked up churches and santa caps dotting busy marketplaces across the city.
Christmas is the annual festival celebrated by people of different faiths and cultures around the world.
The festival commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ.
