Inaugurating the Lovlina Boxing Academy in North Guwahati, Assam CM Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said the academy will prepare “our youngsters for the next level”

Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated the Lovlina Boxing Academy in North Guwahati on Thursday (June 5) as he praised the remarkable achievements of the Olympic bronze medalist boxer.

“Assam’s emerging pugilists have a new destination to pursue their dreams – The Lovlina Boxing Academy.

Heralded by ace boxer @LovlinaBorgohai, the centre is equipped with modern training facilities & will prepare our youngsters for the next level,” he wrote on ‘X’.

He hoped that the academy will play a very vital role in nurturing young talents and, considering the modern training facilities the academy is equipped with, he hoped that it will prepare budding pugilists “for the next level”.

He further said that with the monthly training fee kept at just Rs 500, every aspiring athlete will be able to train and pursue their dreams at the academy.

He also announced that the State Sports Department will extend a grant of Rs 2 crore to the academy for further infrustructure upgrade and for construction of an academy hostel.

Chief Minister Dr Sarma also planted a sapling inside the academy premises before the inauguration ceremony.
