GUWAHATI: The rapid rise in price of essential commodities in Assam has become a matter of concern for the state government. The sudden price rise in the markets is affecting the general population. The BJP-led government of Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal seems concerned as there have been complaints of traders increasing the prices on their own. Sonowal had a meeting with representatives of various trade organizations in Guwahati and discussed the matter.
Sarbananda Sonowal directed the officials, Food & Civil Supply Dept, Agriculture Dept and Assam Police to conduct drives against price rise at various markets. Officials were also asked to build a dedicated team to tackle the matter.
“Price rise affects all, so it is my earnest appeal to everyone to work as #TeamAssam and find a way to resolve this issue at the earliest,” said CM Sarbananda Sonowal.
