Assam CM announces to constitute recruitment commissions for Grade III and Grade IV posts

Guwahati: Fulfilling  pre-poll promise of providing jobs to 1 lakh unemployed youth across the state, Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma  on Saturday announced  that the state government is mulling to introduce Recruitment Commission and Combined Recruitment Exams.

CM Sarma said that the government has decided to constitute separate recruitment commissions headed by an officer in the rank of additional chief secretary for Grade III and Grade IV posts.

The decisions were taken at a meeting headed by the Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma with officials of various state government departments. During the meeting, Chief Minister Sarma reviewed the steps being taken for filling up vacant posts in multiple departments.

Similarly, for various engineering services, it was decided to hold a combined recruitment examination through APSC.

The meeting in question was attended by APSC chairman Rajiv Kumar Bora, Chief Secretary Jishnu Baruah, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Samir Kumar Sinha, and heads of various departments.

Taking to twitter, Chief Minister Sarma reaffirmed the BJP-led government’s committment to providing jobs to the one lakh unemployed youth ever since it assumed office earlier this year.
