GUWAHATI: A six member Central team will arrive in Assam on Wednesday to assess the extent of damage caused by the floods that affected around 57 lakh people and killed 113 people between May 22 and August 20.
The team will visit the flood affected districts to assess the damage to property, crops and various other assets including river dams.
CEO of Assam Disaster Management Authority, MS Manivannan said that during their three day visit to Assam,the team will hold meetings with senior officials of the Revenue department and Disaster Management Authority.
Meanwhile, the state has earlier sent an interim flood report to the centre seeking compensation for the damage due to the deluge.
