Assam cabinet reshuffle: Four BJP MLAs, including veteran leader Prashanta Phukan, to take oath as new ministers on Saturday

GUWAHATI, Dec 5: Four Assam BJP MLAs, including four-term Dibrugarh legislator Prashanta Phukan will take oath as new ministers on Saturday as part of the cabinet reshuffle to be effected by Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Besides Prashanta Phukan, Patarkandi MLA Krishnendu Paul, Lakhipur legislator Kaushik Rai and MLA of Doomdooma Rupesh Goala will also be administered the oath of office and secrecy as ministers by Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya.

Chief Minister Dr Sarma took to ‘X’ to announce the names of the four MLAs who will take oath on Saturday.

Chief Minister Sarma is also likely to effect a reshuffle of departments among existing ministers of his cabinet during Saturday’s rejig.
