Guwahati: Two times former Congress MLA from Thowra Sushanta Borgohain filed his nomination on Friday for Thowra Deputy Commissioners’ office at Sivasagar in a hope of his third win from the same constituency as a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate at the upcoming Assam assembly by-election slated on October 30.
He was accompanied by Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and a few other ministers.
Borgoahin is also hopeful that the people of Thowra will vote for BJP this time seeing the developmental work done by the Himanta Biswa Sarma led government.
Taking to the Twitter CM Sarma wrote, “Today, in Sivasagar, accompanied Sri Susanta Borgohain as he filed his nomination for Thowra constituency bye-election. Several Ministers & party colleagues also joined. May Lord Shiva’s divine blessings lead him to victory! @BJP4Assam”

In the last assembly election, Sushanta Borgohain won from Thowra LAC from Congress defeating BJP incumbent MLA Kushal Duwari and later joined BJP in August resigning from Congress.
