GUWAHATI, Oct 20: Two Army troopers, including a braveheart from Assam, were martyred in a ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district today.
The slain Army troopers were identified as Padam Bahadur Shrestha and Gamil Kumar Shrestha from the Gorkha Regiment.

Padam Bahadur Shrestha hailed from Hatighuli in Golaghat district’s Barpathar. He leaves behind his wife, two daughters, a son and his aged parents.
On the other hand, Gamil Kumar Shrestha hailed from Nepal.
A civilian was also killed in shelling by Pakistani troops while three others were injured.
Meanwhile, Army Chief General Bipin Rawat has condoled the death of the two soldiers and offered his condolences to the bereaved family members.
