GUWAHATI: Assam boxers Lovlina Borgohain and Jamuna Boro have made their places in the top ranking in amateur boxers’ World Rankings, which were released by the International Boxing Association (AIBA) recently.
While Olympic qualifier Lovlina has been ranked 3rd in the 69 kg women elite category, Jamuna Boro is ranked 5th in the 54 kg women elite category.
Congratulation the duo, Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Sunday tweeted, “Many congratulations to the immensely talented boxing duo @LovlinaBorgohai & @Jamunaboro1 for being ranked 3rd & 5th in the 69 kg Women Elite and 54 kg Women Elite categories respectively of @AIBA_Boxing World Rankings. Here’s more to girl power!”
