Assam Boxer Lovlina Borgohain gets Tokyo Olympic 2020 Ticket

Guwahati: Assam boxer Lovlina Borgohain became the third Indian and the first woman boxer from Assam to grab the Tokyo Olympic Games 2020 ticket.

Lovlina defeated Melieva of Uzbekistan in the 69 kg weight category quarter-finals of the Asian zone Olympic qualifiers which are underway in Amman, the capital city of Jordan.

The news was shared by Boxing Federation of India through it official twitter handle

Union sports & youth affairs minister Kiren Rijiju has also congratulated Lovlina on his Twitter handle.

Assam Finance Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma took his official tweeter handle to congragulate the Assam’s pride pugilist.

 

Two other Indian boxers who have also qualified for this year’s Tokyo Olympics are Asian champion Pooja Rani (75kg) and seasoned boxer Vikas Krishan (69kg).
