Assam BJP’s Sewa Saptah begins

GUWAHATI: A week-long Sewa Saptah of Assam state BJP to mark the birth week of Prime Minister Narendra Modi began with a seminar on the contribution of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in building Modern India. The keynote address was delivered by Prof. Nani Gopal Mahanta of Gauhati University who spoke in detail about the Prime Minister’s effort to restore India to its glory as one of the leading nations of the world community.

Prof. Mahanta described the efforts of Prime Minister to restore the status of Kashmir to its glorious past as the seat of Indian Culture, at the same time how PM addressed the grievances of the Kashmiris.

He also analysed the Prime Minister’s role in shaping our present day foreign policy which was a velvet glove in an iron fist. This posture has enabled India to take on China in thwarting their territorial advances recently and also forge security alliances with USA, Australia, France and Russia.

Senior Advocate Sailen Das spoke on the efforts of the Prime Minister in doing away with the practice of teen talaq and end the century old repression of Muslim women.

Padmashree Dr Kannan spoke virtually on the steps taken in the cancer care by the Prime Minister and the benefits that have accrued from the Jana Arogya scheme. Padmashree Dr Kushal Sharma spoke on the role of PM Modi in environmental protection and his insistence on restoring the 33% green cover required to maintain the ecological balance.

Dr. Sarma dwelt on the role of the Prime Minister in the protection of rhinos, elephants and tigers, for which the wildlife in India has got a great boost. He also described the PM’s initiative to promote solar power and other forms of renewable energy.

Padmashree Mukul Goswami spoke on the measures to take care of the Divyangs by the Prime Minister. Dr Jafreen Mehjabeen deliberated on the Prime Minister’s initiative for women care and empowerment starting from the Ujwala scheme to the formation of SHGs to boos their incomes. She also emphasised on the role of development of minorities as taken by the Prime Minister. Dr Subhash Basumatary spoke on the steps taken by the Modi Government in promoting sports in India through the all embracing Khelo India programme, including internationalisation of Yoga.

On the other hand, Dr. Hitesh Barua regaled the audience with a song he had composed on prime minister Narendra Modi.

Prof. Amarjyoti Barthakur spoke on the rapid advances made by India in the scientific field under the leadership of the Prime Minister starting with communications, space, armaments, science for innovation and benefit of common people. Educationist Luna Bordoloi spoke on the different schemes for children and the New Education Policy as to how it will change the face of education in the coming years.

State BJP President Ranjeet Kumar Dass spoke in detail about the commitment of the Prime Minister, his spirit of service, hard work and commitment to make India to a world leader and also serve the poorest of the poor. Vice President welcomed the speakers and the audience both present in person and virtually, while Secretary Benudhar Nath proposed the vote of thanks.
