Guwahati: The Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) on Thursday announced that the saffron camp would announce its candidates on March 20 for Rajya Sabha Polls which is scheduled to be held on March 31.
Assam BJP president Bhabesh Kalita said that the saffron camp would announce its candidates on March 20.
Meanwhile, after a long tussle between the two parties, Badruddin Ajmal led All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) has decided to support Congress candidates in the ensuing Rajya Sabha polls.
AIUDF which fought the last state polls with Congress was demanding the latter to allow its candidate in one of the two Rajya Sabha seats and asked it to back AIUDF’s candidate.
However, the change in decision came after AIUDF chief Ajmal met All India Congress Committee (AICC) chief Sonia Gandhi to settle the confusion.
