Assam BJP launches special plasma donation campaign

GUWAHATI: Assam state BJP today launched a special plasma donation campaign to fight COVID-19 pandemic in the state. Arrangements for plasma donation were arranged at Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Silchar, Jorhat and Tezpur Medical Colleges at the initiative of the BJP workers. So far, 290 recovered patients have registered for plasma donation under the initiative of the BJP.

Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and state BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass attended the launch of the campaign at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sarma said, “Assam has achieved two remarkable feats in testing and death rate. On August 12, 1 lakh and 43 thousand tests were conducted. The number of patients touched 70 thousand, but death rate is .24 per cent.”

Dr. Sarma appreciated the BJP workers for reaching out the plasma donors.
