Assam BJP celebrates PM Modi’s birthday with ‘Sewa Saptah’

GUWAHATI: Assam state BJP celebrated prime minister Narendra Modi’s birthday with a week-long programme titled ‘Sewa Saptah.’ Chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal attended the Sewa Saptah event held at Sirmanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra in Guwahati on Thursday.

On the occasion of birthday of the prime minister, CM Sonowal planted a sapling at the Kalakshetra. The state unit of BJP set a target of planting 70 saplings in every booth of Assam.

“Under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, a new era of all round development has begun in Assam and North East,” CM Sonowal stated in his speech.

As a part of the Sewa Saptah, the chief minister also felicitated and interacted with some artistes of the state at ‘Silpi Samvardhana Samaroh.’

BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav, state BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass, Assam and Tripura organization general secretary Phanindranath Sharma also attended the programme.
