Assam: All teachers to attend workplace from September 1

GUWAHATI: Addressing a press meet in Guwahati, Assam health, finance and education minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that all the teachers will have to mandatorily attend their workplaces from September 1.

“All the teachers from primary to university level will test themselves for COVID-19 from August 21 to 30. This is for the greater interests and safety of the students. The teachers will have to mandatorily attend their workplaces from September 1. Failing of which will be regarded as leave without pay,” Dr. Sarma said.

Though the attendances of the teachers from September 1 have been made mandatory, the government is yet to take the final decision on reopening the schools and colleges of the state. Dr. Sarma stated that the future course of action will be taken according to the directives of the centre.
