Assam: All National parks, Wildlife Sanctuaries to be closed from tomorrow


GUWAHATI: Amid Coronavirus fears, the Assam government has announced the immediate closure of all the National Parks and Wildlife Sanctuaries in Assam.  The immediate shut down will be effective from tomorrow till March 29.

The list includes Kaziranga National Park, Manas National Park, Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary and Dibru-Saikhowa National Park.
The entry of the visitors will be restricted from March 17 to March 29.

The authorities also mentioned the closure of Assam State Zoo cum Botanical Garden till March 29.

As the concerns about the coronavirus rippled across the globe including Assam and rest of the country, schools, colleges, cinema halls, gyms and swimming pools have already been asked to remain shut to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus disease in Assam.

Earlier, the state government asked the educational institutes not to organize morning assemblies or exhibitions as a preventive measure to contain Coronavirus.
