Assam: AHSEC decides not to hold HS 1st year exam, students to be promoted to 2nd year

GUWAHATI: Amid COVID19 crisis, Assam Higher Secondary Education (AHSEC) has decided not to hold HS first year examination this year. The council decided that all the students of the first year will be promoted to second year without examination as the state has been grappling wwith COVID19 situation and lockdown.

The decision will be applicable to 1,500 AHSEC-affiliated colleges and higher secondary in Assam. According to the reports, there are 2,31,238 students studying in HS first year under AHSEC. All of them will be promoted to second year.

Earlier, HS first year examination, scheduled from March 25 to April 10, was deferred by the council in view of the current situation.

On the other hand, AHSEC chairman Dayananda Borgohain told News Live that results of HS second year exam would be declared within 15-20 days after the lockdown is over.
