The general secretary of the Lakhimpur District of the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) Swaraj Shankar Gogoi tragically lost his life in a road accident on Thursday night.
The fatal incident occurred on March 21 night as Gogoi was traveling to Dhakuakhana in his Maruti Swift vehicle.
The incident occurred along the national highway (NH)-15 at Kona Nadi area, under Bogeenadi police station in Lakhimpur district of Assam.
The vehicle collided with a tree before plunging into a deep gorge.
Gogoi’s mortal remains have been sent to the Lakhimpur Medical College for post-mortem examination.
Gogoi’s untimely demise has been mourned throughout the district.
