Guwahati: In a gruesome incident, a 7-year-old girl was raped and murdered in Borhola village in the Hojai district of Assam.
According to sources, the 7-year-old girl’s dead body was found in a field on Sunday Morning after she went missing from a marriage party on Saturday night. The girl was in her uncle’s house to attend a marriage party.
One Jaiprakash Kalar has been arrested in connection with the rape case.
“A girl of Borhola village was raped and murdered yesterday.
Meanwhile, we have sent the body for post mortem. We have Jaiprakash Kalar in custody after local people complained that they saw the girl with Jaiprakash last night,” said an investigating police officer.
“The girl was missing from 12:30 AM so, the girl’s mother searched for her and when asked the girl’s friend said that she saw the girl with Jaiprakash for the last time. Next in a few mins when the girl’s mother and local people confronted Jaiprakash he said I will need a car, and it will take at least 2 hours to bring her back. After hearing this statement the girl’s mother called me. I asked the boy he told me the same. So we informed the Police and today morning we found the girl’s body in a field near their residence,” said a local resident.
Local residents of the area are angry with the incident and they have demanded death penalty for the rapist.
