Assam: 6 flight passengers among new COVID-19 patients

GUWAHATI: Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma announced 25 new COVID-19 positive cases at 6.20 PM on Friday. Dr. Sarma mentioned in his Tweet that among the new COVID-19 patients there are 6 air travellers. Earlier a woman who had travelled by flight from Ahmedabad to Guwahati tested COVID-19 positive. The domestic flight services resumed in the country on Monday. Lokrpiya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) airport in Guwahati has been receiving a large number of incoming passengers every day. Elaborate arrangements have been made to screen and quarantine the passengers.

So far on Friday Assam has reported 55 COVID-19 cases. The State’s tally presently stands at 935 with 819 active cases. On the other hand, 109 patients have been discharged from hospitals following their recovery.
