GUWAHATI: Assam has recorded 1,973 fresh COVID-19 cases out of the 34,307 tests conducted in the state on Tuesday. The positivity rate of the day was 5.75 per cent. With the addition of these new cases, the count has reached 94,592, mentioned health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet.

On the other hand, 1,724 patients were discharged from hospitals and COVID-19 care centres in Assam after their recovery from the infection.

So far, total 74,814 patients have recovered from the disease.
Currently, there are 19,515 active cases in Assam. Meanwhile, death toll in the state reached 260 on Tuesday.
