Guwahati: A total of 150 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Assam on Saturday (January 1).
Among the new cases, the highest number of cases were reported from Kamrup Metro (76), Kamrup Rural (17), Cachar (8) and Jorhat (8).
The new cases were detected out of 19,602 tests that were conducted during the day.
The test positivity rate in the state was recorded at 0.77% per cent on Saturday.
Meanwhile, one new COVID-19 related death was reported in the state during the day.
According to NHM Assam, the fresh fatality was reported from Kamrup Metro.
Further, 102 patients recovered on January 1. The COVID-19 recovery rate in the state stands at 98.64 per cent.
Earlier on Friday (December 31), 192 COVID-19 cases were reported in the state including 105 cases from Kamrup Metro district.
In the last 10 days, Kamrup Metro district has reported 529 new COVID-19 cases.
According to data released by NHM, Assam on 1st December, 6,20,915 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the State so far. Out of which, 6,12,485 patients have recovered, while 6,165 patients passed away.
The total number of active cases in the state now stands at 918.
Over 2.66 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the state so far.
As many as 3,76,63,826 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Assam so far. This includes 2,17,35,408 persons administered with the first dose and 1,59,28,418 administered both doses of the vaccine.
