GUWAHATI: As the state has been battling with COVID19, 1332 volunteers from different fields have come forward to render their service at this hour of crisis. So far 1332 volunteers have registered themselves through the online portal launched by the Government of Assam.
Earlier, Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that any doctor, nurse, paramedic or other professionals who is residing in or outside the state can apply to volunteer themselves in the battle against COVID19. People residing outside can help online while those present physically in the state can help with treatment and other support services.
Till now, 1332 people have registered themselves through the online portal— http://volunteer.assamassistance.in. Among them there are 290 doctors, 22 nurses, 149 paramedics, 1 Asha worker, 111 medical students, 17 college teachers, 56 engineers, 31 government employees, 4 scientists, 220 students, 76 businessmen, 23 IT professionals, 10 counselors, 18 drivers, 10 home makers, 1 ex-service man, 48 school teachers and 255 others.
