Assam: 10 thousand people likely to come to each district

GUWAHATI: In next 45 days around 10 thousand people who are stranded in other parts of the country amid COVID-19 lockdown are likely to come to each district of Assam. Speaking to media persons at Jorhat, Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that a large number of people will enter Assam in next 45 days.

“When under ‘Assam Cares’ initiative we provided financial aid to the people stranded in other states, we came to know that there are around 6 lakh 12 thousand people from Assam. Around 10 thousand people in average are likely to come to each district in next 45 days,” said Dr. Sarma.

However, he maintained that state government has made massive arrangements to deal with the situation. Dr. Sarma also stated that every state is bound to bring back their people who are stranded in other parts of the country.
