GUWAHATI: Television star Ashish Roy from ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ was facing financial problems due to his ill health. The 55-year-old star died due to kidney ailments. Roy was suffering from past three years and was undergoing treatment for the same. All his savings got exhausted paying his medical bills.
According to news reports, Roy had requested for financial help through Facebook and some of his friends from the television and film fraternity had come forward. Though it was too little and too late for the versatile actor whom soap opera viewers knew from the popular serial ‘Sasural Simar Ka’.
From 1997 some of his television works included Byomkesh Bakshi, Banegi Apni Baat, Yes Sir, Ba Bahu Aur Baby, Sasural Simar Ka, Ek Rishta Sajhedari Ka, Kuch Rang Aisa Bhi, Aarambh among few.
Ashish Roy had contributed his voice for many Hollywood movies that were dubbed in Hindi. His voice was used in movies like Superman Returns, The Dark Knight, Guardians of the Galaxy, The Legend of Tarzan and Joker that were dubbed in the Hindi language.
