GUWAHATI, Dec 26: Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein inaugurated the region’s first-ever Tai Khamti Aromatic Herbal Sauna Bath at the Golden Pagoda yesterday.

“Happy to have inaugurated the first-ever Tai Khamti Aromatic Herbal Sauna Bath at the beautiful Kongmu Kham (Golden Pagoda) today. This one-of-a-kind initiative, crafted by Ven Bhikkhu Vimala Tissa, the Abbot of Kongmu Kham Monastery, is a remarkable gift to our community.

Unlike regular sauna baths, this herbal sauna blends ancient Tai medicinal properties for producing the steam used in the bath, offering natural and medicated steam therapy to promote healing and relaxation. From relieving colds to improving sleep, it is a holistic wellness experience that reflects the wisdom of our heritage.

What makes this even more special is that it is available free of cost for everyone, young or old. I encourage all to take benefit from this unique healing practice.

My deepest gratitude to Ven Bhikkhu Vimala Tissa Ji for this selfless and innovative contribution to our region,” he wrote on ‘X’.

He also visited the 145 foot-tall Lord Buddha statue at Dhamma Peak in Lathao.
