GUWAHATI, Dec 10: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Assam Police formed to probe the APSC cash-for-jobs scam arrested Nanda Babu Singh, former principal controller of examinations of the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC), in connection with the anomalies in recruitment of civil servants of the 2013-14 batch.
Nanda Babu Sinha, said to be a close to formed APSC chairman Rakesh Paul, was arrested from his residence in Silchar and is being brought to Guwahati for further investigation.
Singh’s daughter Minerva Devi, currently serving as Additional District Commissioner, Karimganj, has also been summoned by the SIT for questioning after her name figured in the list of civil servants allegedly clearing the recruitment exam using unfair means.
