Nine ACS and APS officers who were arrested in connection with the APSC cash-for-jobs scam were granted bail by the Gauhati High Court today (Oct 4). The court of Justice Rumi Kumari Phukan granted bail to the nine arrested accused on hefty bail bonds of around Rs 1 lakh besides slapping stringent conditions on their release.
While six accused who were granted bail today are ACS officials, the three others are APS officers who have been put under suspension after their arrest in November last year.

The arrested accused whose bail petitions were granted by the High Court today are Badrul Islam, Dipak Khanikar, Sunaina Aideu, Sudipta Goswami, Gitali Doley, Rumi Saikia (all ACS), and APS officers Kunal Das, Sabira Imran and Dilip Kumar Kalita.
The nine accused have been told to surrender their passports and not to leave Guwahati without prior permission from court.
