GUWAHATI, Dec 5: The Assam Public Service Commission has declared the results of the Combined Competitive Examination, 2023, with Chiranjeev Phukan, a First Class B Tech from NIT, Silchar, topping the recruitment examination securing 872 marks while Anisha Buragohain, a Post Graduate from London School of Economics, coming second with 823 marks.
Seven in the top-10 list of successfull candidates are women.
Himandri Jita Bora, a JRF scholar and Post Graduate from JNU, Delhi, secured the third position while Mrigakhi Baruah, a Graduate and Post Graduate from Delhi University, came fourth.
Tutumani Kakati of Muguria, Bajali, secured the fifth position.
Among the other toppers within the first ten are Mridusmita Ray of Goalpara, Mary Kalita of Bongaigaon, Diksha Sarkar from Sribhumi, Nilam Garg from Lakhimpur and Ankita Chettri from West Karbi Anglong district.
The APSC, while declaring the results recommended 235 candidates for appointment in ACS/APS and allied services.
It is worth mentioning that for the first time posts have been reserved for Moran and Motak communities.
Out of 235 candidates, 45 candidates for ACS, 35 candidates for APS, 107 candidates for Assam Accounts Service, 11 candidates for Inspecting Auditor, 1 candidate for Superintendent of Taxes, 1 candidate for Superintendent of Excise, 13 candidates for Assam Finance Service, 6 posts for Block Development Officer, 4 posts of Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies, 4 posts of Inspector of Taxes, 4 posts of Inspector of Labour, 1 post of Assistant Employment Officer and 3 posts of Sub Registrar have been recommended to the Government by the Commission.
The entire recruitment process beginning with the preliminary examinations held in March, 2024, has been completed in a record time of almost 8 months.
More than 67,251 candidates had applied for the examination this year with meritorious students of the State from all disciplines reposing their faith and trust on the APSC following the free and fair recruitment process.
