Appointment for LP, UP teachers begins in Assam

GUWAHATI: The appointment for the lower and upper primary teachers who had cleared Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) in Assam began today with chief minister Sarbananda Sonowa and education minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma distributing appointment letters at a function at Srimanata Sankardev Kalakshetra in Guwahati.

In the first phase, 5,319 primary teachers will be appointed. The other selected candidates can download their appointment letters from https://dee.assam.gov.in.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “The chief minister asked us to make 50 thousand appointments this year. We are trying to achieve the target by February.   We are appointing 10 thousand more teachers in September.”

He also stated that appointment of high school teachers will begin in September.

In his speech, CM Sonowal congratulated the newly-appointed teachers and highlighted the role of a teacher in the society.
