A day after the body of Rosmita Hojai from Dima Hasao in Assam was found in Uttarakhand, another young woman has died under mysterious circumstances outside the State amid accusations that she, too, has been murdered.
Shivali Kashyap of Nazira was found dead in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, with her family members accusing her boyfriend, a person named Saurav Purohit, of being involved in foulplay.
Shivali was employed with a private firm as an interior designer and was in a relationship with Saurav, also an interior designer.
Her family members said she last spoke to her mother at around 12:30 am last night. However, around 20 minutes later, they received a call from Saurav who told them that she had died after suffering a fall from the building where she and Saurav lived.
“She was speaking to my mother over phone till about 12:30 am. Then after around 20 minutes, Saurav telephoned us saying she had died after suffering a fall from the building. He did not even call the police and I had to call up Gujarat Police and told them about the incident. He is making contradictory statements. It’s clear that he is involved in my sister’s death,” Shivali’s brother told News Live.
“They have killed my daughter. She had asked me to come and take her to Assam. I had planned to go to Gujarat on Thursday, stay there for a day and return with her to Assam on Saturday. We are financially not sound. I have borrowed money from others to send my son to Ahmedabad. I request the Assam Government to kindly help us bring our daughter’s body home,” her mother said, unable to hold back her tears.
Shivali’s mysterious death comes a day after Rosmita Hojai’s body was found along the riverbank in Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand.
Rosmita had gone to Delhi to appear in the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) examination.
Rosmita, family members said, last contacted her mother on the evening of June 5 and told her than she was returning by train.
She them went communicationless until her body was recovered yesterday (June 10).
Two individuals — Hemant Sharma from Mohindergarh in Delhi and Pankaj Kokar from Rohtak, Haryana — who had reported her disappearance to Shivpuri Police Station, were detained by Police for questioning.
They said Rosmita was swept away by the river, something her family members refuse to believe and alleged that she was murdered. They have sought a fair and detailed probe into her death.
