Anomalies in Assam Irrigation Dept recruitment: APTECH admits it was blacklisted

GUWAHATI: APTECH, the private company which was assigned for conducting examinations for the recruitment under the Assam’s irrigation department said in an affidavit to Gauhati High Court that it was blacklisted for creating irregularities in the exams.

The Mumbai-based company was given contract for conducting recruitment exams for the 643 posts under the irrigation department. The private firm conducted exams for 397 posts in first phase with large-scale anomalies in Febraury this year. Following that, Gauhati High Court stayed the declaration of results of the examinations to select section assistants for the Assam irrigation department.

It needs to be mentioned that APTECH was blacklisted in Uttar Pradesh for their irregularities to select candidates in the power department. The Gauhati High Court asked the company whether it was blacklisted earlier.

In an affidavit, APTECH admitted that it was blacklisted for creating irregularities in recruitment exams.

The next hearing of the case will take place on August 10.
