Guwahati Police on Wednesday carried out a search operation and recovered the second mobile phone used by accused wife Gitashree Sinha in shooting and killing of Anjan Nath murder case.
On Wednesday afternoon, a police team launched a search operation to find out the second mobile phone that was allegedly used by Gitashree Sinha in order to coordinate with the prime accused Sourav Goenka and other assailants and give them the exact location of Anjan Nath.
According to reports, Gitashree Sinha’s younger sister had dumped the mobile phone in the Bharalu stream near Zoo road.
Based on the information provided by the younger sister of Gitashree , the search operation was carried out today and the police were able to recover the mobile phone from the Bharalu stream near Zoo road.
The phone is under the police custody.
Earlier on Tuesday, the police team had also found the murder weapon, the pistol used in shooting and killing Anjan Nath.
With Saurabh, arrested by Police on Sunday night, by their side cops walked along the Bharalu stream near Ulubari, looking for the exact location in which Saurabh had disposed off the murder weapon.
Guwahati Police commissioner Diganta Barah had on Monday said that Saurabh had confessed to throwing the murder weapon somewhere in the Bharalu stream near Rupnagar.
The sensational murder case had attracted statewide attention after the young man named Anjan Nath was shot dead by Saurabh at a busy street in Khanapara locality of Guwahati on Thursday night.
Saurabh was in a relationship with Anjan’s wife Geetashree Sinha and had, after a well-conceived plan with her family, shot Anjan dead with the support of his two associates who had helped him in procuring the gun from Bihar.
Seven persons — Saurabh Goenka and his two aides Arbind Ray and Govind Ray along with Geetashree Sinha, her parents and her younger sister — have so far been arrested by Police for their involvement in Anjan Nath’s murder.
