Samaguri Police arrested all five accused in connection with the sensational gang-rape of a woman near Amoni in Nagaon district of Assam. The arrests were made from multiple places in Nagaon district and Tezpur during a series of raids conducted by cops since Sunday (Sep 2).
The five arrested accused have been identified as Moinul Hussain, Ramzan Ali, Sofikul Islam, Hafiz Bhuiyan and Rokibul Islam. Police also seized a car besides also recovering the mobile phone of the victim.

The arrested accused had allegedly waylaid the motorcycle in which the victim was pillion riding, forced her into their car before taking her to a secluded place near the national highway 37 where they reportedly gang-raped her after midnight on Wednesday (Aug 29).

The rapists dropped the woman near a petrol pump in Amoni after committing the crime. The victim was later taken to Jakhalabandha police station by a tanker driver she sought help.
