Amit Shah to receive grand welcome in Guwahati, says Himanta Biswa Sarma

GUWAHATI: Union home minister Amit Shah will arrive in Guwahati on Friday night. On his arrival at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport, Shah will be accorded a grand welcome by BJP workers.

Addressing a press meet in Guwahati, Assam health, finane and education minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that 3,000 artistes from different ethnic groups would welcome the union home minister to the state.

“Assam chief minister Sarbanada Sonowal, state BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass, Assam BJP in-charge Baijyant Jay Panda along with party leadership will receive Shah at LGBI airport. Several thousands workers will also be present. Around 3,000 artistes of different tribes will welcome the union home minister with cultural performances,” Sarma said.

Dr. Sarma stated that union home minister Shah will inaugurate Asom Darshan scheme at a function at Amingaon on Saturday. Shah will also lay the foundation stone of the beautification project of Batadrava Than. The beautifation project for Batadrava Than which is associated with Srimanta Sankardeva’s life and works will be implemented with a cost of Rs. 183 crore.

 Amit Shah will also lay foundation stone of the second medical college in Guwahati.
