Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday evening inaugurated the much-anticipated Brahmaputra riverfront development project in Guwahati.
The inauguration event was also attended by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The Brahmaputra River Development Project in the Northeast region will receive significant boost as strategic entry gates are planned along its course.
This ambitious project aims to revitalise the riverfront, creating a vibrant and well-designed area that will promote tourism, economic activities, and provide recreational spaces for residents.
Estimated at Rs 3.7 billion, the development encompasses several crucial elements, including the construction of a 15-meter wide boulevard, retaining walls, and connecting ramps. These features will not only enhance accessibility but also provide breath-taking views of the majestic Brahmaputra River.
Earlier in the day, Shah attended the 60th raising day of Sashastra Seema Bal at the SSB Complex in Tezpur, followed with the historic passing out parade of 2551 Assam police commandos in Guwahati.
